There are 3 catagories National, Local and Other that schools competition can fit into. A framework has been developed to enable a level of standardisation and consistency, with the local and national competitions. Support and flexibility will be provided to understand differing local needs for other types of competition, formats and options. South Yorkshires plan for TennisThe SYCM and Yorkshire LTA have worked together to develop competition pathways in tennis. Competition will be for Y3&4 and Y7&8. Teams will consist of 4 players, 2 boys and 2 girls for mini tennis and separate boys and girl’s teams for Y 7 & 8 competitions. A SY final for mini tennis has been put into place where 10 schools will compete against each other in July 09. Y7 & 8 local area winners will go through to the Yorkshire Finals in September at South Leeds Stadium. All events take place in the summer term, however resources will be launched from September onwards and key timescales will be provided to allow for planning and a suitable lead in time.
